It is my pleasure to write for the website of the Somerville International School. I congratulate the Principal, the teachers and the administrative staff for their sincere and untiring efforts.

We thank the Almighty for His blessings showered on the school from the early stages of its inception and growth.
I strongly believe that a school website, a hub for all of us showcases the multifarious activities of the students and the school in all realms of teaching and administration. The school is now well-known and recognised as a premier institute in ‘Expressway – Noida’ area. A well-designed interactive and accessible website is of paramount importance to the school. Parents and students can actively engage themselves in all areas of school life through the website. We can make this possible with a strong partnership with the parents for which their feedback at regular intervals is imperative.

Somerville International School began as an idea to serve the community living on both sides of the NOIDA/Greater NOIDA Expressway. The Lott Carey Baptist Mission already has three well established schools- Somerville School in Vasundhara Enclave, Somerville School in NOIDA and Somerville School in Greater NOIDA. They have gained a name for themselves by providing admirable standards of education, excellent results in public examinations and a wide range of extra-curricular activities that have made their students a force to be reckoned with at Interschool competitions held in Delhi and the NCR.
With this background and experience, the LCBM in India has been able to provide Somerville International School with an aesthetically designed infrastructure and has equipped it with state of the art equipment. The large airy classrooms have attractive and comfortable furniture, air conditioning and air purifiers in addition to smart boards. The computer labs and science laboratories have been custom-made by professionals. The library is constantly being stocked with a variety of reference books as well as fiction for different age groups. Games, sports and activities are given as much importance as academics.
The school has its own fleet of buses ensuring the safety, security and comfort for our students. CCTV cameras cover the classrooms, corridors and grounds for further security of our staff and students.
Above all, the school has well-qualified, dedicated teachers who are guided by the Principal. The Administrative staff and support staff carry out their duties diligently to keep the school neat and clean and ensure that all systems function as desired.

Somerville Schools have a history of excellence in the field of education. Somerville International School is the latest addition to our schools. Extra-curricular activities are given due importance to provide an all-round development of the personality of each child.

The Lott Carey Baptist Mission in India’s newest school Somerville International School started functioning on April 1st, 2013.
Somerville Schools are known for the high standards they set. Our Principals motivate our teachers to give their best and encourage students to discover their latent talents and develop them whether in the field of academics or in the varied extra-curricular activities planned for them during the academic session.
Our Annual Days and Sports Days are enjoyed by the parents. They appreciate our efforts in bringing out the best in their children. Most importantly, Somerville Schools are committed to inculcate in our students a value system that will stand by them when they go out into the world and take their place as responsible citizens. Somerville International will carry forward the traditions laid down by its sister schools with pride and the pledge to raise the bar by introducing innovative modern teaching methods, and providing additional facilities to our students.

Each of us, sooner or later, goes through a moment or a situation when it seems that we are on the wrong road, and life is moving in the wrong direction. But… this is also true that some things are within our control and what disturbs us are not events or situations, but our attitude towards them.
Dear all, I wish you the blessing of a positive attitude, and this is what we also try to build in our students. We, at the Somerville Schools, strive to provide a platform where a child is holistically educated, encompassing physical (physiological), mental (cognitive), social, emotional (psychological) and spiritual growth. We aim that our students become a resource for tomorrow.
We accentuate learning by synergy and collaboration and this surely comes with a positive attitude towards life. Every student at Somerville is given a voice and avenue where they are able to express their knowledge, dream big and achieve big.

Founded in the year 2013, Somerville International School is the baby of the entire Somerville Family. As a premier educational institution of the NCR, we at SIS, hold a vision to excel in all spheres as we carry the ethos of the Somerville Schools forward with a renewed zeal and dedicated commitment. The school has witnessed an unprecedented positive growth and development in the course of the 10 years of its establishment with our first ever batch of Class XII students, all graduating with First Division and needless to say, a100% Pass Result. Over the years, SIS has evolved on several fronts – academic, co-curricular activities, sports, games and social service equally.
We strive to be an abode of knowledge that embraces each and every child with love and utmost care, envisioning an education system where students are prepared to face challenges of life believing that education should not just be a mere acquisition of knowledge, but also a balance with wisdom gained to survive and conquer today’s non-linear world. Our academic programme is built around the needs of the competitive world we live in. The holistic curriculum of our school enables each child to bloom in accordance to his/her innate potentials, transforming each child into a well-spoken and mindful individual.
Our classrooms at SIS create an inviting and a nurturing learning environment, designed to stimulate the mind and promote learning experiences with Tata Class-Edge technology installed in each classroom. Reiterating Confucius, “I hear, I forget. I see, I remember. I do, I understand”, the school has sophisticated laboratories that sanction an atmosphere of exploration and ample opportunities for the students to learn with hands on experience. The Science and Mathematics laboratories of the school enable students to interact directly with the material or with data drawn, using the tools, data collection techniques, models and theories of science. The school also has a fully-equipped Library to nurture young minds towards literary virtuosity. With a balanced focus on the arts, the curriculum offers Western Music, Indian Music, Art and Craft at all levels for students to become well rounded in the field of the Arts and Performing Arts. We also house a state of the art infrastructure for indoor and outdoor sports including a basketball court, a volleyball court, a badminton court, a lush green field for cricket and taekwondo as part of martial arts amongst other athletic events.
We encourage a strong focus on academics with individual monitoring and counselling for the students through ‘Mentorship’ to elevate each student’s potential to a higher level of performance. Our strategies involve direct contact with the parents by teachers who analyse and devise ways to help each child develop confidence in themselves.
From time to time, we empower our teachers with the training and resources that are needed to deliver high quality teaching and learning experiences, in order to bring out the best in our students. Each day is a challenge for our teachers and students as we innovate and symbiotically learn with Online Teaching and Blended modes of education, an essential of 2021.
